A. CONTINUOUS EMBEDDED COPPER
What it is: Copper tubing is sandwiched—under extreme pressure—between two sheets of aluminum, permanently bonding the metals together for an exclusive, super-conducting, leak-free system.
Why it’s better:In other collectors, where copper tubing is merely tack-welded to aluminum panels, heat absorption is not as complete, and spot welds are prone to breakage due to expansion and contraction. Plus, the single 64' length of copper tubing has no joints to leak or fail.
B. 20-WATT PHOTOVOLTAIC PANEL
What it is: This panel generates electricity from the sun’s rays, to power the pump on the Heat Exchanger (which moves the heat transfer fluid through the system).
Why it’s better: Because the Sunward System generates its own electricity, there’s no 110-volt wiring required. Our PV panel is pre-wired and all electrical components are "Quick-Connect.” Other solar hot water systems that are hard-wired into your home’s electricity are called parasitic systems: they shut down during power failures, and consume up to 15% of the system’s energy savings in electricity.
